Patrice O’Neal, standup comic and beloved friend of many, passed away Tuesday from complications from a stroke that the comic suffered last month. He was only 41 years old. He suffered a stroke on October 19th of this year after a long battle with diabetes.

Many famous celebrities have been mourning the comic’s death with many tweets on twitter in his honor, talking of his many contributions to the world of comedy and the world in general with his beautiful personality.

His death has hit many very hard and He will be greatly missed. He is survived by His wife, Vondecarlo, his mother Georgia, his step daughter Aymilyon and sister Zinder. It was reported that his mother Georgia was at his side at the time of his death.

A statement from the family was issued saying, “The family wishes to thank all of the fans and friends who have expressed an outpouring of love and support for Patrice these past weeks. We ask that you please respect the family’s request for privacy at this difficult time.”

He added, “Patrice had that rare ‘light’ around him and inside of him. I only knew him for the few days leading up the Roast. Yet I will forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent. My tears today are for the tremendous loss to his true friends and loving family.”

In addition to his stand up acts, Patrice O’Neal had half hour specials on HBO and Showtime and hosted Web Junk 20 on VH1. He also made several TV show appearances on The Office, Arrested Development and Chapelle’s show.
